About SBI Australia
The Australian node of Japan's Systems Biology Institute, established in 2013 at Monash University's Clayton campus in Melbourne.
Our Role
SBI Australia was established in 2013 to expand the Systems Biology Institute into the Australian scientific landscape. Headquartered at the Clayton campus of Monash University, the node connects Japanese and Australian research and industry partners, facilitating the sharing of scientific technology, resources, and expertise.
What We Do
The node focuses on three core areas:
- Research — advancing systems biology through collaborative projects across Australian and Japanese institutions.
- Training — building Australian capacity in systems biology through workshops, seminars, and educational programs.
- Outreach — engaging students, postdoctoral fellows, and industry organisations to grow the systems biology community.
SBI Australia also facilitates access to high-performance computing capacity and software platforms, supporting researchers with the tools needed for complex biological modelling and data analysis.
